Soccer Training Drills, The Key is in Touches Per Session

Soccer training drills are the single most important part of improving your teams ability. To be more specific repetition contained in the drills carried out in a specific session help player overall confidence on the ball.

Although fairly common sense not all soccer coaches get the message. Take, for instance, a child's development in any area. How do they improve any aspect of their motor skills?

Soccer Drills

The answer is simply by continually repeating the process of a certain movement over a period of time. Learning to play soccer is no different. Young players learn and develop their skills by repeatedly carrying out specific drills that enforce the learning of that skill. Only by doing this will a coach see an improvement in his players.

Soccer Training Drills, The Key is in Touches Per Session

So how do we accelerate the learning process and allow player to develop their soccer skills at an earlier age?

The secret to this is to accelerate the training sessions by including soccer practice drills that involve more kicks per drill. OK so more touches on the ball per drill = more touches on the ball per session which in turn means accelerated training sessions

To ensure that your players can accelerate their development there are five steps that you can take to help young players on their way.

1. Carry out Warm Up Drills using the ball at all times. This will introduce the ball early into sessions and allow players to get a feel for the ball going into the main session.

2. Be Prepared. - The preparation of a training session can make or break the whole soccer practice. Get the training ground early and set up for your drills before the player arrive. This reduces wasted time and allows more time for on the ball training.

3. Choose Drills Carefully - Accentuate the Skill Factor. Choose drills that concentrate on individual skills. Make sure there is a ball for each player concentrating on the skills you want them to practice and repeat, repeat and repeat again.

4. Play In the Box - Use tighter areas for drill which encourage closer control. By keeping the box smaller this is proven to increase the number of touches on the ball and develop speed of touch.

5. Keep it Short - Reduce the number of players per drill to max 1 v 1 for starters. As confidence and ability improves you can add more players but keeping it to minimum ensures that everyone is involved and again there are more touches on the ball.

So there we have five easy steps to improve your player skill and accelerate their soccer development. More touches per session have been proven to dramatically increase a players' ability. Some well prepared coaches have experienced 5 times more touches per player per session compared with traditional training methods.

What Soccer Can Teach About Sales

My 11-year old son is a goalkeeper for a very competitive soccer team. With some recent changes on his team, there has been a shift in their performance. In the past, their defense was solid, and their offense was deadly. They could score at will. Early in the new season, the team has managed to score a total of ONE goal across its first four games. You cannot win if you do not score.

After their most recent defeat, the coach said, "You guys have to score more goals. It's just that simple. You need to put the ball in the net." During the team meeting after the game, the boys sat while the coach spoke. Of course, I'm guessing it was just like when an adult speaks in a Peanuts' cartoon: They heard something, but they did not understand any of it. You could read their faces: "Don't you think that's what we've been trying to do?"

Soccer Drills

Businesses face a similar challenge. In the past, you may have been successful hitting your numbers. But, recently, you may not be reaching your goals. I speak with many CEOs and heads of sales who come to me for help saying, "I keep telling my guys we need to generate more business. I tell them to have more meetings, to do more proposals. My team just doesn't listen!" It can certainly be frustrating. But, just like soccer, your team has likely been trying to do the very thing you are asking.

What Soccer Can Teach About Sales

As times have changed, perhaps you have not adapted. Maybe your skills have not evolved. Your messages that used to resonate with customers now fall on deaf ears. Your solutions that used to be head and shoulders above the competition now appear to be a commodity. The way your best clients used to make buying decisions has changed. Regardless of the reason, what worked in the past no longer works, today.

During his meeting with the soccer team, the coach eventually shifted from "score more goals" to a conversation about what specific actions they could take to achieve their objective of scoring more goals. He pointed out the specific skills that were preventing their success. He even pointed out that some of the team members did not appear to be giving 100% of their effort. Ultimately, he concluded that during the upcoming practice, they would do drills that reinforce behaviors which improve their chances of scoring. The coach realized that they needed to practice the actions they needed to take to be successful.

Telling your team to "land more contracts" is no more effective than telling a team of 11 year-olds to" score more goals." Just like the soccer team, your team needs to understand the specific steps to take in order to succeed. There are three steps you can take to get your business team on the road to scoring.
Step back and evaluate: Before you can determine what you want to fix, you need to evaluate WHY you may not be realizing success. Which specific skills might be a stumbling block for your team? You may need to shuffle your roster to put people in the right positions;
Define a process: Structure gives us a foundation to evaluate and make changes. Define a consistent step-by-step plan that each team member can follow to generate new business. Engage the team in developing the plan so that they own it.;
Practice: This is where many great plans fall short. Create an environment for regularly scheduled practices. My son's soccer team practices three hours per week and plays a game for one hour per week. When I ask senior executives how often their teams do role playing or practicing, I often feel like the "adult talking in a Peanuts' cartoon." Once you define a process, be sure to create an environment for your team to regularly practice it.

By evaluating the team's performance, defining a plan of action, and creating an environment for reinforcement through practice, the soccer team will be back to scoring and winning... and hopefully the same will be true for your team in your business. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

How to Become a Complete Soccer Athlete? Tube. Duration : 1.55 Mins.

www.soccerathletics.com Technical development and physical fitness athletic conditioning are essential to perform your best as a soccer player. Technique is something that can be coached. Fitness and physical conditioning are other aspects that a coach or trainer can develop in their players by implementing regimented athletic conditioning programs. But there are other important qualities that must be developed in order to become the best soccer player you can be. Some of these qualities a coach has less influence over. Qualities such as maturity, independence, mental toughness, creativity, and what I call that certain X-Factor (or WOW Factor) can be encouraged and modeled by a good coach, but these are characteristics that a player will need to develop on their own. Incidentally, this is the sort of personal development that will not only make you more successful at soccer, but also more successful at life in general. This short video focuses on these qualities.

Overview of Soccer Skills

As with any sport, you must practice your soccer skills in order to get good at them. There are so many techniques, and drills to improve these techniques, that there is always something that you can be doing to improve your game. Your physical abilities and the position that you play will determine what skills you need to practice the most.

Every position needs to practice kicking, making clean, powerful and accurate kicks. You will use this soccer skill for passing, for shooting and for clearing the ball out of your zone. Ball control is also a very important skill that you should constantly drill to get better at; if you do not then your opponent will easily be able to snatch the ball out of your grip. Heading is another important skill as your competition level increases and is utilized very well in an indoor soccer skills set. Using the proper technique for this skill is important to prevent a concussion injury.

Soccer Drills

Dribbling is not ball control, ball control is keeping control at a high speed; dribbling is passing it back and forth between your feet and doing the neat tricks that may fake out your opponent. Goal keeping is a good thing to practice in case the goalie needs a replacement, however, if you are not the primary keeper than you should not focus most of your time on the goalkeeping skills. Finally the tackling skills will ensure that you are better equipped to take the ball from you opponent and that is very important for defenders.

Overview of Soccer Skills

There are no best soccer skills, each one has its particular uses and all of them should be practiced to get an all around level of quality in your game. If you cannot tackle the ball then there is no way for you to prevent the opponent from getting to your goalie even if you have exceptional ball handling. There are many professionals and the like who display amazing skills in videos on the web and those are a good place to start. Try to mimic what they are doing, see if you can do it and if you cannot then just keep practicing.

Street soccer skills will use the same primary set, though the techniques to launch them will be different. You cannot slide tackle on the street, well you can but it may not be worth it! No matter what skill you want to get good at, it will take practice so be sure to put in the time and the effort to learn it well!

10 Unmissable Tips For Goalkeepers

If you're a goalkeeper, or a soccer coach looking to help your goalkeepers improve, then maybe you've got some tried and tested methods that work for you. If your methods aren't working, why not give some of these tips a try?

1. The goalkeeper is the most important player in the team. As long as the goalkeeper and the team doesn't concede, the team won't be beaten. If the goalkeeper is beaten, then the team has to score.

Soccer Drills

2. Contrary to popular belief, the goalkeeper isn't always the one to blame for conceding a goal - the ball has to go past 10 players on his/her team first. It may be a goalkeeping error, but it could also be that attackers, midfielders and defenders weren't concentrating, or doing their jobs properly. Blaming the goalkeeper won't do their confidence any good, and won't help at all.

10 Unmissable Tips For Goalkeepers

3. Goalkeepers often train with the outfield players, and whilst the fitness and some of the ball control aspects is relevant, a lot of a goalkeeper's work is done with their hands, so they need a separate training session.

4. In a young team, or even for a more experienced older team, all players should have a go in goal, to see what it's like. It will give them more of an idea how they can help their goalkeeper, and what the goalkeeper can do to help them. In addition, it may unearth a better goalkeeper! A goalkeeper shouldn't be chosen on height alone. There are several world class goalkeepers who are "short" and many outfield players who are tall enough to go in goal.

5. Learning how to catch properly is important for any goalkeeper, and getting it right will dramatically improve the keeper's confidence and ability. Additional skills such as narrowing the angle, and dealing with certain situations such as corners or free kicks and penalties can be learnt later on.

6. After the keeper has caught the ball, they need to stay calm, and think about what they're going to do with the ball. There's no point pulling off a great save, and then throwing the ball to an opponent, or booting the ball upfield before the team has had chance to regroup.

7. A goalkeeper needs to stay focussed for 90 minutes. It only takes a second to concede a goal. In a young team and especially for children, concentration should not be emphasised too much. Children have a short attention span, and will be easily distracted by something.

8. Learning how to dive should be encouraged, but for children it shouldn't be forced. A young goalkeeper should learn the basics of catching and distributing the ball, before learning how to dive.

9. Encourage goalkeepers to use specific soccer drills designed for goalkeepers. These can include travelling sideways between the posts, catching, and distribution. By practicing with team mates and other goalkeepers, skills and confidence can be improved, so that when it comes to match day, there is nothing left to chance.

10. Goalkeepers are often said to be a breed apart. They put their heads where other players wouldn't put the ball, they are the first to be blamed when their team concedes, and they can't hide when they're having a bad day. Still, the best goalkeepers will rise to the occasion, and do the the best they can.

The important thing is to enjoy playing football, and to enjoy being a goalkeeper. It's not the most glamorous role on the pitch, and they are the first to get the blame when things go wrong. However, when it all gels, and the goalkeeper has a good game, they are usually the first player to get the praise. Will you become the number one goalkeeper?

10 Unmissable Tips For Goalkeepers

Soccer Field Diagram - A Guide to 4 Soccer Positions

What's really surprising to know is that coaches refuse to use a soccer field diagram to teach several different soccer formations to kids. Or else, they are unable to make the kids understand the meaning of 4 important positions. These include Forwards, Midfielders, Defenders, and Goalie. Let's discuss these individually.

Forwards: They are the ones who place themselves close to the opponent's goalpost. Their role is to convert the passes into goals which they get from their fellow players on different positions. Since they will be making most efforts to shoot goals, they need to be strong enough. Its significance is greatest even when they are just okay in other talents.

Soccer Drills

Nonetheless, the other players shall apparently keep shifting from one position to a different position. Those forward players who play in the middle are called strikers and wings when they play by the touch lines. Yet, consistent with main role as forwards, they should be physically strong and have powerful shooting toes.

Soccer Field Diagram - A Guide to 4 Soccer Positions

Mid-fielders: Those players who play in the middle of the field are called as mid-fielders. Their job is to take the possession of the ball and then pass it to the forwards so that goals can be scored. There are either normally 5 or 6 mid-fielders. Define their position clearly in the soccer field diagram.

The coach should emphasize on improving the tackling and dribbling capabilities of the players. This is really instrumental in stealing the ball from the opposition and attacking the opposition. Also, they should be accurate in passing the ball. These are one of the most important soccer positions on the field diagram.

Defenders: These players guard the goal from attacks and so are called defenders. As you can see, their position is vital. They are generally 3 to 5 in number and stay close to the goal post to avert attacks.

Also, their task is to resume the ball from the goalkeeper and then pass it to the players. A skill that is very critical to them is to shoot the ball to the midfielders and so the coach should concentrate on this a lot.

Goalie: This is the most important person who guards the goal post and ensures that there is no goal. When all other players are unsuccessful in defending the goal, the goalie must use his powers to subvert the attack. Since the goalie has the advantage of using his or her hands, the coach should use his creativity to invent special soccer tactics, drills and exercises that help him make the most of it.

Now that you know this, create a soccer field diagram and help your players understand it. This will aid in teaching them the importance of each and every position. Our youth soccer coaching community is known to contain a lot valuable articles, newsletters, and videos. Subscribe today and make good use of them.

Soccer Coaching Courses

The following article explains everything you need to know about soccer coaching courses, what they should include, and how they can help you to achieve success as a coach.

Why Take Soccer Coaching Courses?

Soccer Drills

Soccer coaching courses are for any soccer coach who wants to improve or develop their coaching methods. They are not just for those new to coaching; offering coaches at all levels the chance to learn new skills. No matter how experienced you are, taking on board new ideas is essential in improving your team's developments.

Soccer Coaching Courses

What Do Soccer Coaching Courses Cover?

The following are just a few of the areas that soccer coaching courses cover:

Fitness -- Soccer coaching courses should include a strong emphasis on the role of physical fitness in football, and how you can help the players at your disposal to achieve this. As a bare minimum, before beginning every coaching session, you should have a warm up and a warm down at the end to prevent any injuries. You should also look to include a healthy amount of fitness training within your coaching sessions, in order to ensure that your players are in the very best physical condition possible.

Nutrition -- Knowing what your players should and should not be eating is one way you can ensure that they are in optimal physical shape. Many major soccer clubs work with dietitians, however in a smaller team, it is the responsibility of the coach to advise the team on what diet they should be keeping.

Administration -- Every successful team needs someone who is in charge of administration, and more often than not, it is the coach who takes on this role. The administration of a soccer team involves making sure that player registrations are in place and that the team is in compliance with league and governing body guidelines. The finances of the team are also something that the administrator will have to deal with.

Child Protection and Duty of Care -- If you are coaching minors, you have a duty of care to make sure that they are safe and under constant supervision at all times. Making sure that your coaching practices are in line with those outlined by the relevant child protection agencies is another challenge soccer coaches face. Soccer coaching courses for juniors will make you aware of all of the issues you need to be aware of in relation to looking after children.

Soccer Coaching Resources

Many coaching courses will provide you with a host of resources and hints and tips on how you can improve and develop as a coach. These include books, DVDs and interactive computer programs, all of which can help you to learn new coaching techniques and methods.

Now you know more about how you can be a better Soccer Coach, what not sign up for a Soccer Coaching Course, and see what you can learn, and help your players improve?

Speed and Agility Training - Drills to Boost Your Performance

on Monday, September 24, 2012

The drills are very important for any athlete when he is under training. The same goes for speed and agility training. This training is very important for the sports persons who are into team sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball etc. In this article, I will explain in brief about few simple drills that deliver the desired results for you. They are:

1. Basic Sprints: First, take two cones and then place them 10 - 20 meters apart. Now sprint from one cone to the next cone. Then slowly jog back to the starting point. You can try different kinds of start like jump up, facing backwards, and jump to head a ball etc. This will make the drill bit more interesting.

2. Hollow Sprints: Take five cones and set them out. Each cone must be 30 meters apart from another. You begin with sprint in the first interval. Then jog the second interval. In the next interval, again you have to sprint. Hence, you will finish the last interval by jogging. Now walk back to the starting point of the first interval and repeat the same procedure.

3. Cruise and Sprint: Here, you have to sprint for 100 meters. Start slowly at the beginning but keep increasing the speed steadily. You must be at full speed when you reach around 60 meters. Now, finish the last 40 meters with full speed. It is recommended to do repetitions 2 - 3 times only since it requires much time to finish.

4. The Zigzag: This drill type is very commonly practiced by the sports persons. First, you have to place a series of 6 - 8 cones in a straight line. These cones must be one meter apart from each other. Now, jog through the cones in zigzag manner. Once it is finished, come to the first cone and repeat the same once again.

Coerver Coaching Benefits

Coerver Coaching is one of the finest soccer training methods in the world, and for good reason. It teaches young soccer players how to be skillful, confident, and learn that anything is possible with the right mindset. Some soccer players aren't confident enough to perform soccer moves and the fear of making a mistake means that they won't try anything out of the ordinary. When you look at the US men's national team, what kind of player is missing? A creative type who is able to unlock a defense with a swift move or through ball. This kind of player doesn't develop by being afraid to make mistakes, they develop in a fun and creative environment where creativity is encouraged, even if making a mistake is a byproduct.

Creativity should be encouraged in soccer, and the drills and activities on the Coerver Coaching DVDs do just that. The players are taught various beat an opponent moves in a no pressure environment. They can practice executing the moves without worrying about making a mistake. Once the players are familiar with the moves, pressure is gradually increased by adding an opponent. Firstly, the opponent is only allowed to do so much pressuring, then they are allowed to make a tackle, then it is game like conditions. This is normally done in 1v1 and 2v2 exercises. In these small-sided games, players will learn about finding space on the field and how to take advantage of it. Essential when transitioning to a full size field.

Soccer Drills

The main reasons for dropouts in youth soccer is because the kids aren't having fun and are getting burned out. If every other training session is fun and enjoyable, your soccer players are going to be on time for training, they might even get there early! When you think of all the influences in your own life, aren't the people who made things fun more memorable? Soccer is the most popular game in the world, and it should be fun. If we want to grow the game of soccer in the United States, we need to teach the game in a fun environment. When you get the Coerver DVDs and see the exercises in each of them, you can see the joy on the players faces. The same can be done for players on your soccer team.

Coerver Coaching Benefits

In the age of video games and the Internet, children are not getting enough exercise. Do you have players who can perhaps perform on the soccer field but aren't able to do it for a long time? The Coerver Coaching method will build up your soccer player's endurance levels so they can perform on a more consistent basis. They won't know that's what they're doing in training because the activities always involve the ball, but over time, their fitness levels will increase so that they perform very effectively whenever they are on the field.

Coerver isn't just a method for teaching soccer, it's also about making sure that soccer players develop a love for the game and keep coming back for more. Once they do that, the game in this country will truly flourish.

Junior Football Coaching - Things to Consider

The following article explains some of the things that anyone who is looking to take up junior football coaching should consider.

Preparation

Soccer Drills

In football coaching, preparation is everything, and making sure that you have all of your equipment and drills in place before you begin the training session is vital in making sure that it is a success.  You should arrive at the training centre at least half an hour before you coaching session is about to begin. This will give you enough time to set out cones and get all of your practice equipment in place

Junior Football Coaching - Things to Consider

Fitness and Training

Successful football training involves a combination of both ball skills and fitness regimes. Although most players will want to focus on their ball skills and practice in a game situation, it is vital that players are fully prepared, with fitness regimes which are tailored to their specific requirements. Not only will this help players to be prepared for a game situation, it will also help them to prevent serious injuries.

Dedication and Commitment

Contrary to what you may hear, top class footballers are not simply born that way. In order to achieve greatness, it is vitally important that they put in a great deal of dedication and commitment into their preparation and training. Successful football coaching involves drumming this into your players consistently. Use the examples of role models such as David Beckham to highlight the importance of training and hard work and the associated rewards that this can bring.

Football Coaching Resources

Although football coaching is a largely practical process, there are several resources you can utilise, such as books and DVDs which will help you and your players to learn more about the game.

In addition, football coaches are increasingly using visual aids such as whiteboards and online video coaching to get their tactical points across.

Sports Psychology and Nutrition

Educating players on the importance of diet is highly important in football coaching, in making sure that you have a team which maintains optimal levels if fitness.  Many of the big clubs have dedicated dieticians who work with the players to make sure that they are eating correctly.

Psychology is also a major part of the game. Making sure that your players maintain a positive attitude at all times will give them the mental strength to become successful footballers.

It's not the winning; it's the taking part that counts

It may be a cliché, but remembering this will help you to coach well-rounded players who have the right attitude and play the game in a sportsmanlike manner. There's no harm in being competitive, but for younger players, football coaching should be a fun and light-hearted affair.

Now you know more about junior football coaching, what's stopping you from becoming a better coach, and helping your players be as good as they can be?

Brazilian Soccer Schools - Super Skills Part 2

Brazilian Soccer Schools - Super Skills Part 2 Tube. Duration : 8.02 Mins.

Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS) created by Simon Clifford. Simon was a teacher before he raised funds to travel to Brazil to see what makes the Brazilians brilliant at football. Simon made his first trip in 1997 and spoke to Brazilian greats such as Zico and Rivelino on how they were coached and how they coach now. He came back to England with some weighted size two footballs and a new method of coaching. Though his first session had an attendance of only four children, Simon has made the BSS an international success. Simon also owns and runs Socatots which teaches children between the ages of six months and five years old basic football skills. Using the game of futebol de salao children use a weighted size two ball which enhances their technical ability. Proven to deliver results this has lead to Brazilian Soccer Schools becoming international and is now known as the International Confederation of Futebol de Salao (ICFDS). Futebol de Salao gave Brazilian players such as Pele, Socrates, Cafu and Juninho the technical ability which lead them to become some of the best players of their time. One of the best known english players to come out of the BSS is England and Man City centre back Micah Richards. Another is the world champion football free-styler John Farnworth who started his career at the BSS and now entertains thousands of people with his technical ability. In 2003 Simon Clifford bought the unknown Garforth Town AFC and plans to get them into the Premiership in the ...

Soccer Practice - Training Players to Play Fast While Under Pressure

How your soccer players practice makes a huge difference in how they will perform in real soccer matches. The key to playing better in real soccer matches is practice that involves lots of touches and repetition of a soccer skill while under pressure so it can be done fast and instinctively. This article discusses a training approach using soccer practice games that train players to play fast and instinctively while under pressure

1. Soccer drills are a poor way to train players to play fast because they aren't "game realistic". Soccer drills don't involve competition which creates pressure and forces players to play fast. Drills can actually train players to play slow because players are learning skills at a speed that is slower than they will need in a game and without pressure. It is one thing to learn to do a skill slowly and without pressure and very different to try to do it fast while under pressure. Try it yourself if you doubt it. I can do some great soccer moves at a slow speed, but not while playing fast under pressure. If you want to train your players to play fast, use soccer practice games that involve keeping score so players are competing against each other and are under pressure to play fast. Good soccer practice games are better than drills. They are more efficient, they involve more touches and they involve pressure which forces players to play at a fast speed so they can win the game. Good soccer practice games are game realistic, but most soccer drills aren't

Soccer Drills

2. The Dribble Across a Square soccer practice game teaches many things. Play it 4 times as a warm-up to start each practice. Play it twice with a smaller square as wide as 10 of your player's steps and use the smaller square to teach Control Dribbling (dribbling in traffic). Then make the square as wide as 15-17 of your player's steps and use it to teach recognition of open space and acceleration into open space, which teaches breakaways. This game teaches instinctive reactions and that is why playing it a lot is good. You want your players to react instinctively when they dribble, which means to react without thinking. You want them to have confidence with the ball. There is no more important soccer skill than dribbling.

Soccer Practice - Training Players to Play Fast While Under Pressure

3. Use the Dribble Around Cone & Pass Relay Race practice game to teach aggressive receiving. This will train your players to always be ready for a pass and to move to the pass rather than waiting for it to come to them. It will teach your players not to expect the pass to come to their feet. It teaches them to expect a bad pass and be ready for it. The result will be that your team will play faster because your players are moving to the ball and you will have many less turnovers due to "bad passes" because your players will learn to stop many of the "bad passes". This teaches receivers to accept responsibility and to not expect a perfect pass.

4. Teach "passing to space" instead of "passing to feet". This will greatly improve the speed, flow and creativity of your attack and teach your players how to use open space. Instead of waiting for a pass to come to their feet, they will start to intuitively understand where the open space is and be ready for a pass to that open space.

5. Use the Dribble Around Cone & Pass Relay Race practice game to teach one-touch play. This game will teach players that they can play faster if they one-touch the ball in front of them and then run onto it. The players who do so will win the games and those that don't will lose, so it very clearly shows the benefits of one-touch play. Unless players want to lose, they will have to learn to "one-touch". That will teach them the concept of one-touching the ball as a way to speed up or to one-touch it into open space in order to avoid pressure. Once they understand this it is easy to teach the idea of one-touch passes.

6. Chaos is good in practice. Soccer practice games that involve chaos train your players to be cool in chaotic situations. Real matches are chaotic and practice games that are chaotic help prepare players for real soccer matches. Dribble Across a Square and 2 Team Keepaway are examples of chaotic soccer practice games that involve a great deal of traffic. They help train players to be comfortable with chaos, lots of traffic and not get rattled.

7. Cones vs. Traffic. Competing with other players is best, even if cones are involved. Try to avoid cones. Real matches involve players, not cones. In a few cases it might be beneficial to use cones to demonstrate an idea, but even then you should have players compete and keep score so there is pressure. An example is the Inside/Outside Figure 8 Dribbling Race soccer practice game which teaches how to use the inside and outside of the foot to turn. However, if you have limited practice time, it is probably better to use the Dribble Across a Square practice game to teach this. You can do that by telling players that they can only use one foot (choose their "strong" or their "weak" foot). The reason is because they will be practicing in "traffic" and that is much more game-realistic than dribbling around cones.

MLM Network Marketing Lead - How to Turn MLM Leads Into Distributors Fast

on Saturday, September 22, 2012

One of the biggest frustrations that network marketers face is how to turn a MLM network marketing lead into either a paying customer or a new distributor. There are many ways that marketers go about it. The biggest that is taking the internet by storm now is income claims. Marketers think that if they flash all this cash or have these outrageous income claims plastered on their website that it will impress the prospect.

Despite popular belief this is NOT the most effective way to turn a MLM network marketing lead into a downline member. People may not agree but you will only attract those people that are full of hype, get rich quick, or have a lottery mentality. Not only that but people don't believe that stuff anyway. As a true business owner you have to ask yourself if you really want that type of attention. If you want to have a lasting business the answer is no.

Soccer Drills

The most powerful way to market to a MLM network marketing lead is to sell your LIFESTYLE. Truth be told money is only a by product. People don't want money they want freedom. They want to be able to spend time with their kids, not miss a soccer game, or even take their spouse to the park for a picnic in the middle of the day while everyone is working. Always keep in mind when marketing sell the prospect a hole not the drill.

MLM Network Marketing Lead - How to Turn MLM Leads Into Distributors Fast

Basically put a drill is your network marketing opportunity. These are all a dime a dozen. On the outside looking in they all look the same. Now the hole is the lifestyle people desire. Harp on that and nothing else. If you can get good at this one thing your income will go to another level. As you do lifestyle marketing you will hands down attract higher quality prospects.

Not only that you are positioning yourself as a professional to that MLM network marketing lead and not as another online network marketing peddler. You may say I am new to this and I don't have a lifestyle to sell, I don't have the money to travel yet, show off my cars and house, or whatever. That is fine. Get familiar with the people on your team and their stories and sell that. This is more powerful because you are getting in that prospects mine they will be working with a team that is focused on their success.

The Importance of Boxing Workouts For Kids

People often ask me what's the youngest age I take students in my boxing school. Well, kids who are registered through USA boxing can compete starting at eight years old. I handle the registration for USA boxing at my gym.

The benefits for kids boxing at a young age is a better development of their bio motor abilities such as balance, coordination, timing, speed, agility, etc. Kids boxing at this young age better serves them in other sports as again, their bio motor abilities are enhanced from the boxing training.

Soccer Drills

What's in the workout?

The Importance of Boxing Workouts For Kids

Another question I get is what exactly the boxing workout consists of for kids. Well, we jump rope, perform footwork drills, shadow box, work the heavy bags, double end bags, the punch mitts, speed bags, perform defensive drills, conditioning work, perform abdominal core exercises, and body weight exercises such as push ups and squats.

This is why kids boxing helps them grow athletically faster than just little league baseball or soccer. Its all the different skipping, bounding, and other unique movements that develops their nervous systems to function better and that's key in athletic performance. How developed is the nervous system. if it has never been challenged then the kid will display that by sub par athleticism.

Kids boxing workouts make them better boxers.

Of course the above kids boxing workout outline will make them better boxers too! Just making sure you understand that! From self defense, competition, to self confidence which comes form learning self defense and also competing, boxing workouts for kids changes kids for the better!

Soccer Drills - Practice Makes Perfect

Any good coach these days utilizes and implements soccer drills into all his training sessions. Soccer drills if conducted properly provide a platform for all players to develop and grow with the game.

Setting up grids with strategically placed cones is not enough. Having players walk through the drills is also of no benefit. Soccer drills need to replicate match conditions.

Soccer Drills

So what are match conditions? Match conditions are simply all out physical and mental exertions to try and defeat your opponent. The pace on match day is of high intensity and requires 100% effort by all players.

Soccer Drills - Practice Makes Perfect

Training drills need to replicate match conditions and need to create urgency amongst the players. Players going through the motions will not benefit anything from these drills. Also players working at a slow pace will miss out on all the aerobic and anaerobic improvements that come with working at high intensity.

The benefits of working at high intensities are pretty obvious and include an increase in aerobic capacity of the lungs. Also increases your anaerobic threshold and decreases the effects of lactic acid build up in the muscles. High intensity intervals also develop the required specific body muscles required to play soccer at the highest level.

Anyone heard the saying, "practice makes perfect". What better way to practice your soccer skills by implementing soccer drills that specializes and concentrate on one aspect of the game. By constructing specific drills, players can continue to practice certain skills through repetition and in a team environment.

Any player wanting to improve their game needs to apply drills and continue to practice them through repetition. Repetition is the key to improvement and development of any player irrespective of their age.

The higher number of repetitions, the more practice you've had, and the closer you get to that elusive manager holding your million dollar contract.

Three Secrets of the Active Dynamic Warm Up For a Soccer Team

A proper Active Dynamic Warm up for a soccer team is critical for them to do to prepare themselves for a soccer game. There are three components to a proper active dynamic warm up; a) Increasing the body core temperature of the player b) stretching the muscles dynamically (active muscle stimulation) versus statically and c) mimic game movements.

Lets take a look at each of these three components:

Soccer Drills

Increasing the body core temperature of a player:

Three Secrets of the Active Dynamic Warm Up For a Soccer Team

The days of having players jog a lap around the field and believe that this has warmed the player up properly should be taken out of your practice planner. This jog has done very little to prepare a soccer player for a game or a practice. Have your players go through a series of quick exercises that incorporate all muscle groups. You could have them do jumping jacks, skips, quick feet, and a whole host or movement exercises like this. Have them go through movements quickly and explosively. This component may take 5-8 minutes to perform. This will raise the core temperature of the soccer player up. If a player's core temperature is raised even one degree, they will have 1-3 percent more power at their disposal for the game. Studies have shown that increasing the core body temperature of a player will also help to minimize injuries on the soccer field. Injury prevention for soccer players should be one of the most important things that a coach is concerned about.

Active muscle stimulation:

Now that the players core temperature is sufficiently raised, you will want to stretch them out through dynamic stretching. The difference between dynamic and static stretching is this...dynamic stretching will stretch the muscle through a wide range of motion through a specific movement stretch. Static stretching is stationary stretching.

As an example, if you wanted to stretch the hamstrings of a soccer player, "Toy Soldiers" dynamic stretch is where a player is standing upright with their arms extended out from them and as the player walks forward they lift their right leg up and try and touch their right hand, then their next step they lift their left leg up and try and touch their left hand and so on. This movement will stretch out the players hamstrings and prepare them well for a game. To stretch the hamstrings statically, a player could bend from the waist and try and touch their toes and hold that position for 10-15 seconds as an example. Static stretching is best used after a game or practice instead of before hand.

Mimic game movements:

Just before a game get started, having players go through a series of quick feet movements, high knee drills, shuffles and quick bursts of 10-15 yards will do several things for the player. First of all, it will reestablish the core temperature of the player and secondly it will prepare the players body for the movements that they will be doing on the field while playing the game.

The active dynamic warm up is extremely important as it will help to prevent injuries, it will help with a players speed and agility, and it will make sure that a soccer team is ready to play when the whistle blows.

Proper active dynamic warm ups for soccer players will make a difference in the success of the players and the team.

Have a great day!

Soccer Fitness - The Common Characteristic in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final Four Teams

The world cup quarter final games of late have been very exciting and dramatic to the least. Soccer fitness has definitely been very noticeable from my perspective as a major reason the four remaining teams are in the semifinal games. It will also be an important part of the finals.

The ability to perform repeated sprints with minimal recovery was key in Germany's victory over Argentina. This was very evident as the game progressed in to the second half. Any time Germany attacked and lost the ball they were quick to return and defend. Unfortunately Argentina appeared to fade as the game went on. They lost the ability to attack and defend with the same intensity.

Soccer Drills

This quality for soccer fitness is invaluable. A soccer player that is able to sprint and recover quickly regardless of the position he or she plays makes a difference towards the end of the game.

Soccer Fitness - The Common Characteristic in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final Four Teams

The soccer fitness level of the Netherlands grew as the game against Brazil carried on. It was as though the Brazilian players were being worn down as the Netherlands were relentless on their attack. Sprint and recover, sprint and recover and sprint and recover appeared to be the motive of the Netherland attackers up front. Unfortunately for Brazil they were unable to slow the game down or turn up a notch or two as many would have expected.

In the two other quarter final games it appeared to me that Spain, Paraguay, Uruguay and Ghana were fairly level with their fitness levels.

This makes it quite obvious that soccer is a game of power and speed and should be trained that way regardless of the age or gender of the soccer player. There are several ways to get into this type of condition:

1) Soccer players may perform interval training by changing the intensity, movement and recovery for soccer fitness drills. An example would be forward sprints for 10 seconds with twenty seconds recovery for a certain number of repetitions.
2) Repeated sprints of distance of 10M-40M
3) In season 3v3, 2v3, 4v4 or 3v4 at high intensities for time or goals then a short active recovery in the form of light individual dribbling then repeat again.

By doing these three things the ability to attack and defend with out being tired improves soccer fitness over the season and creates the stamina necessary to last an entire soccer game

Soccer 101 - Training Tips on Becoming the Best

1.) In Dribbling
Try dribbling the soccer ball to and fro the opposite ends of soccer field three times during training period. This will serve as an excellent warm-up exercise that also helps you condition your dribbling skills. Every turn you make, without losing control of the ball credits you one point. Performance of this routine will improve the way you maneuver the ball in the field. Though it may not be much of an enjoyable experience, it produces great results after four to five practices, making you more skillful in control dribbling, speed dribbling and shielding the ball, as well as turning the ball.

2.) In Heading
Assemble a three-manned team and practice cyclically heading the ball from player one to player two to player three. Remember to use the middle of the forehead in striking the ball. Do not jerk your head when attempting to hit the ball, instead, lean back and exert force along with your entire upper body. This training will give you more powerful headings and make you less prone to injuries.

3.) In Passing and Shooting
When working out alone, kick the ball towards the wall and continuously strike it towards the wall's direction, using both your left and right foot. Remember to keep your ankle in place and firmly kick the ball right in the middle. This exercise will help you develop quick reflexes as well as a strong sense of balance that will be very helpful when trying to deliver a ball to a teammate. It also helps you practice different shooting acrobatics in order to secure that goal.

4.) In Controlling
Still working with a three-manned team, the ball will be repeatedly passed from player one to player two to player three. This exercise may involve running throughout the field. The goal of this drill is to train each player in controlling the ball with one touch. This exercise helps in building a player's focus and technique.

Soccer training aids were devised to help out in basic skill development as well. Training tools, like cones, rebounders, poles, ladders, mannequins, hurdles, nets and targets, are specialized to provide inexhaustible means for performing drills and exercise, and allow the practice of different maneuvers, while preventing costly damage to your other soccer equipments (most especially the ball). Soccer training aids can facilitate in priming you and your team into becoming the scoring machine that you want to be.

5 Creative Ways to Scrapbook Sports

Are you a (insert sport of choice here) mom?

If so, chances are you have tons of pictures of your child(ren) just waiting to be scrapped. Or perhaps you have been faithfully attending games/events for so long that you know longer take your camera. Either way, here are a few ideas to get you scrapping those sports memories.

Soccer Drills

The first thing we tend to think of when it comes to scrapbooking sports are action shots. You want to capture the swing of the bat that caused the game-winning home run. Or the "shoot-score!" A word of caution for you new moms, the first score/shot/finish/etc. is priceless. You don't want to miss it because you were waiting behind the lens of a camera. You don't know how long you will wait, a game, a season, several seasons.

5 Creative Ways to Scrapbook Sports

Chances are once the first one has happened; they will have a newfound confidence to spring forth many more to come! Be sure to capture other action shots along the way-dribbling, running, kicking, swimming, whatever it may be. Just capture the "essence" of the sport. There are many things that lead up to the ultimate shot/moment, so be sure to capture those things as well.

Secondly, create a layout based on the determination and practice necessary to get in the game. Oftentimes, more hours are spent in preparation and practice than actually playing the game or doing the sport. Capture these moments-doing drills, doing the same step over and over again. My niece is a cheerleader. One day she was practicing her back handsprings. Over and over with spotting from her mother, until finally she could do it and on her own! Imagine a page capturing the attempts and finally being able to do it. A lesson learned! This is powerful stuff for a child's self-esteem. You can turn back to this layout any time your child needs some reassurance that he/she can do it!

Next, capture the emotion of the sport. There are many emotions involved-happy times, low times, a time of sheer determination, frustration and a myriad of other emotions. Forget the body shot, zoom in on their face and capture their emotion. Ask them afterwards what they were thinking and feeling and include it in your journaling.

Gather inspiration from the sports page in your local newspaper. Or better yet, if their team was featured, cut it out, spray it with archival safe spray and include in your layout. Use newspaper like headlines as titles for your page. "Warriors beat out Panthers, 3-1" or "Hawks soar to new heights." Okay, these are off the top of my head, but hopefully you get the idea.

Finally, ask your child why they play the sport? Their answer might surprise you. Whatever their answer may be, play it up. If they answered, "competitiveness", then find(or take) a photo of them really fighting for the ball.

Or if they said, "style or elegance", capture a beautiful plie. Use these single words as titles and include the definition as an embellishment.

Scrapbooking sports is more than the "official" team photos and posed shots. Get into the game, get creative! Capture some action, dedication, emotion and the whys. What are you going to capture next?
